C-Club & Athletic Department Senior Awards

At this year's Senior Athletic Awards Presentation, the College honored two of our very own - Kelly Norsworthy '08 and Evan Mullin '08. To be recognized by the Athletic Department, College and C-Club as two of the outstanding student-athletes over the past four years is a tremendous honor for both Kelly and Evan. At the same time, it is also quite an honor for our team to have two of the seven award recipients. This May represents the culmination of a wonderful and special four year period for swimming and diving on The Hill - in part due to Kelly and Evan's efforts. BUT more so due to the incredible Class of 2008 which has - both collectively and individually - helped shape and elevate our program.

The Millett Award is presented to the female (and male) student-athlete who has contributed the most to Colby athletics during her four years. Ellsworth "Bill" Millett '25 was a highly respected coach at Colby for more than 20 years starting in 1927 coaching football, basketball and hockey. He was not only an exceptional coach but was known for his caring attitude and warm friendships with his athletes. The Norman White Award is presented to the graduating senior who during their four years at Colby has provided inspirational leadership and sportsmanship. Norman White '50 was an outstanding baseball player at Colby and went on to become one of the finest high school coaches in Maine. He was known at both Colby and in his subsequent coaching & teaching career for his unfailing courtesy and friendliness, as well as his calmness and strength of character.
